Who doesn't like to go and buy the bread and smell the freshly baked bread as soon as it enters the shop? And even better, who doesn't like the smell of freshly baked bread in their own home? We choose to do it at home most of the time because we can use the ingredients we like best or the ones we have in the pantry at that time to add and give it the taste we want.
That's why we want to encourage you to try not only dishes and desserts to eat but also one of the foods we consume the most, which is bread. Although we sometimes abuse it and include it in many of the day's meals such as breakfast, mid-morning, lunch and dinner, it would be ideal to leave it as a small meal supplement when we want to include hydrates in the day's menu.
Like any other food preparation that needs time and affection, bread is no less, but we can opt for simpler and equally delicious preparations.
One of the things to keep in mind when preparing bread is flour, it is very important because it is the main ingredient along with yeast and it is essential to use a good flour strength that gives strength to the bread "never better said" and finish with a good bread to eat on the table.
How we make walnut bread
- Preparation time: 1 hour and a half
- Difficulty: medium
- 500 gr flour strength
- 12 g yeast or 25 g fresh yeast
- 25 ml olive oil
- 280 ml water
- 8 g salt
- 125 g walnuts
In the first place we must have a good place to bake our bread, prepare the surface with flour or oil depending on different factors such as the temperature of the room or our hands and begin to knead the following ingredients: flour, yeast, salt and water.
Knead gently and stretch the dough so that the ingredients are well integrated. The dough must be elastic and easy to handle. We will include the oil after obtaining this elasticity and finally the nuts.
It is convenient to fold the dough again and again, but with patience and a lot of affection, when we finish folding we will form a ball with it and let it rest for 50 minutes.
We can leave it in a single ball, divide it in two or in several rolls for sandwiches, likewise they will have to rest until they increase in size.
While they are resting, preheat the oven at 200º for 15 minutes and bake another 20 minutes at 210º but always watching that the bread, since it depends on the oven it will need more or less time, it will help us to see how the bread hardens on the surface and forms a crust or crust.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool down completely, as this way the bread will settle more and we will be able to break it as we like without the need to burn with impatience.
