Almond nougat

turron-de-almonds Last year we started a Christmas special from which we explained basic tips and tricks that allowed - and allow - all our readers to enjoy a healthy christmas and totally healthy.

In this sense, there is also a series of Christmas recipes interesting when we want to live Christmas fully from the kitchen.

To give just a few examples, we already know how to elaborate the Chocolate nougat , or how to prepare the exquisite Nougat from Jijona . Not for nothing, we also know how to make good French toast with honey .

Below we explain how we can prepare a good almond nougat , with which we will surprise all our guests in these beautiful holidays.

Recipe of almond nougat

Main ingredients

  • 1.5 kg. of almonds
  • 500 g of sugar
  • 1 kg of rosemary honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lemon

Steps to make the almond nougat

1) Heat the honey over low heat in a saucepan until all the water evaporates. Add the sugar and mix everything with a wooden spoon.

2) Separate the egg whites and beat it to the point of snow. Then add it to the mixture of honey and sugar.

3) Mix everything for 10 minutes (without stopping). Put everything over low heat until you see that the mixture begins to caramelize.

4) Add the almonds with the grated skin of the lemon, mixing everything well and letting it cool.

5) Line with paper to cook the molds that you are going to use, and pour the mixture. Let it cool for two and a half hours.

6) Place the pieces in an airtight container. Enjoy your meal.
