4 ways to fight a migraine

Among those causes that can cause the appearance of a migraine we can mention: nervous tension, stress and anxiety, alcohol consumption, caffeine abstinence, changes in sleep patterns, physical exercise, skipping meals, smells and strong perfumes, smoking or exposure to cigarette smoke, changes in hormonal levels in women, use of contraceptive pills, very bright lights or loud noises.

There are also certain foods that can trigger the presence of migraine: chocolate, dairy products and derivatives, foods with monosodium glutamate, certain fruits (citrus, avocado and bananas), meats with nitrates, nuts (peanuts and nuts), foods with tyramine (red wine, legumes, cured cheeses and smoked fish) and processed foods.

1. Relaxing lavender massage

3. Cold water compresses

Cold compresses help soothe headaches, especially migraine headaches . To make this remedy, you only need five drops of lavender essential oil and five drops of chamomile or marjoram essential oil. Put essential oils in a bowl with cold water, and soak two wipes or cloths in the water with the oil. Lie down and put the washcloth or cloth soaked on the forehead, and another on the nape of the neck, leaving it on for half an hour.

While lavender helps relieve both physical and mental stress and is useful in cases of anxiety, chamomile or marjoram provides relaxing virtues.

4. Infusion of rosemary and ginger

You can make an infusion with dried rosemary and freshly ground ginger, ideal for relieving headache by increasing circulation . To prepare it you need to put in a saucepan the equivalent of a cup of water and bring it to a boil. When the water starts to boil add 2 teaspoons of dried rosemary and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground ginger. Let boil 3 minutes. After this time turn off the heat, cover and let rest another 3 minutes. Straighten and drink.

You can drink up to 3 cups per day of this infusion, until the headache subsides and disappears.
